πŸ‘©πŸ»β€πŸ³ KOREAN CHO COOKING CLASS IN INDONESIA 🌴~* : Cho’s daily cook

Hello~ Everyone~* Cho ~! How was the last Indonesia video? I did 4 cooking class in 11days. I’ll just introduce the first class, otherwise it’d become too long story. first of all, I was the only Korean, and my English is not good. But I’ll try to explain as much as I can. If you know the ingredients, please leave the comment below ^^* I’ve done the first class in Bandung. Two people became a pair to cook in like this beautiful outside. I did alone as my American model friend didn’t want to cook. This is my place and I liked it as it’s quite spacious~^^ This is a stone mortar named ‘Cobek’. Wash hands before cooking~ Peel the cucumber and slice them. This is string bean It’s similar with stem of garlic in Korea. Slice the cabbage as well and then, prepare the ‘Cobek’ that I showed you put dried shrimp powder , salt , bird’s eye chili , garlic , ginger (?) put bird’s eye chili with more slice~ and then put ‘palm sugar’. and then grind them~! ‘Palm sugar’ is the naturl sugar came from the palm tree. put peanut as well Grind them~ As the stone mortar is heavy, I need more pressure with my hand. Grind them until it became porridge. Put the boiled potato and then crush them~ Add some water so it’s not become too stiff or watery. in here, put vegetables that already prepared before and put some mung bean sprout. Put basil(?) and cucumber and then mix them. Move into the dish nicely~ add some Fried shrimp , Melinjo crackers for the garnish.(No shrimp chip) put lime on the side as well. Finished for Indonesian style salad Gado-gado. There are many kinds of Gado-gado. It’s called ‘Karedok’ with this raw vegetables. Second dish~* We’r gonna make ‘Sayur asem’ which is a Indonesian soup. You will see many new ingredients. This is Chayote , taste like radish but the texture is like cucumber. Dice them to bite size~ dice the string bean as well. I’m not sure about this, if anyone knows pls comment below. (This is Melinjo~! ) Thank you comments~* put water bay leaf , maybe.. ginger ? shrimp block Look at this~! add some sliced shallot and then boil it. put prepared vegetables. put candle nuts and shallot in stone mortar and put sliced chili grind them~! put this sauce in the pot, add some salt and sugar. put corn and peanut and that’s all boil~ Sayur asem~Finish~* Third dish~* Chief’s fillet raw fish… but the knife is not good ^^; show it again ^^~ This fish’s name is Gurame~ So cute~* I did the other side which was okay so I felt food~^^ Apply grinded apple to remove the smell, coat the fish with flour~ brush off Chief asked me ” Are you cook? So good ” I was so happy~^-^* Doing some show with salt~hahaha When the cooking oil is hot, Fry gurame on the hot pan oil is dangerous everywhere so slide them on the pan. Fry them until the color looks golden. I love the frying sound~^^ fry the gurame body from the slice I will use it as garnish~ While I was frying and it’s turned off.. my camera was overheated, so off ~^^; WAKE UP ~ WAKE UP~>2. Indonesian soup3. Fish cook4. Indonesian dessertso the first class finished~* We ate lunch together~ It was really yammy~! + _+b I ate two bowls of rice~haha~ It was really impressive time. It’s not common that experience other country’s food and try to make them. I don’t know that when I just came for travel. Eating after I know how the food’s been cooked and what’s in there made me remind Korean food and I could taste way better. What surprised me was the ingridients were not familiar to me butIndonesian food and Korean food have some common thing. I really enjoyed the Indonesian food here. I always eat a lot in here, I didn’t think about Korean food during staying 11days except Soju.( Korean alcohol~haha ) And I’ve noticed they use the ingridients as grinded and crushed one mostly. I think, if you have blender it’d be much easier. that kind of things were interesting Definitely, It is an exotic taste. But There are some other contry’s food that Korean likes Italian pasta, pizza, or Janpanese sushi, donburi or Vietnames food like pho. Korean like this foreign foods. For Korean, Indonesian food is unfamiliar, but if we have more chance to try in Korea then probably it’d be great~! That is exactly what I thought ! Thank you Indonesia tourism authority for giving me this amazing opportunity to experience all of this~! LOVE~! It’s kind of day that remind me the days I had delicious meal in small town in Indonesia. In next video, I’ll make ‘Colenak’ recipe video with some ingredients that I can buy in Korea. Hope you subscribe and like it, see you in next video~* Bye Bye~*

  17. Hi Cho.. 'Colenak' made from fermented cassava. not boiled. fermented cassava have sweet and sour taste. boiled cassava doesn't have sour taste.. πŸ™‚

  18. I think the first food is Karedok not gado-gado because you used raw ingredients and kaempferia (in Indonesia we called it as Kencur different than ginger) meanwhile gado-gado use steamed vegetables and doesn't use Kencur and the one that look liked as ginger in Sayur asem is Galanga known as Laos/lengkuas.

  19. Terima kasih for mentioning my name! This video is great. And I didn't notice that you had something on your hair, hahaha… sorry-sorry-sorry πŸ˜‰

  20. the one that looks like ginger in sayur asem is lengkuas or galanga. and the one you called ginger too in gado-gado is kencur
