Asheville Brewery Tour – North Carolina Vlog – Episode 1

Hello and welcome to our channel. This is
Jamie from Explorcation. In May of 2019, Skylar and I visited North Carolina for
a long weekend. This video highlights our first day in Asheville. Skylar says it’s too early to talk on camera. We are here at the….when you laugh, Skylar, (laughing) when you laugh, I can’t use the footage. Alright. Hello, we are here at the St. Pete airport getting ready to fly out to Asheville, NC, for a long weekend, we hope to do some hiking, see some waterfalls, and do some climbing. And breweries. Oh yeah and visit some breweries. Alright, we will see you there! We get to board on the
back of the plane today. We’ve arrived in North Carolina we had a nice flight
from St Pete to the Asheville airport. The flight was about an hour and 15 minutes
and we actually arrived about 20 minutes early So
that was sweet on Allegiant’s part. We are here at the Visitor Center now, taking a look
at some of the free brochures that are available. We’ve got our rental
car and are ready to explore the city. We found quite a few helpful maps and brochures before leaving the airport. Since we flew into Asheville, we decided we would start the trip visiting some breweries. We picked up this brewery guide at the airport and there are over 72 breweries listed in it. We are at our first brewery. We are going to
check out some of the beers and also try to grab something to eat. Bhramari Brewing was our first stop.
It was the smallest brewery we visited, but we really enjoyed the atmosphere. The
staff were very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed the beverages and food at
Bhramari. The crawfish chowder, mac and cheese and
mushroom hashbrowns were all delicious. Bhramari gained extra points from me
because they also had kombucha on tap. Next up was Wicked Weed, which was less
than a five minute walk from Bhramari. This was a much larger brewery and quite
busy. We sat at the bar initially, but made our way down to the lower level. It
was much less crowded and more laid back. After Wicked Weed, we were ready for an
afternoon pick-me-up. We stopped by Penny Cup, a local coffee
shop. We enjoyed the bright mural on the wall and the coffee was just what we
needed to continue on our brewery tour. With our bodies full of caffeine we
walked about 15 minutes to the next brewery, Burial Beer Company. The inside area was a bit small, but
there was a ton of outdoor space and you could walk up a few levels for even more seating. Our next stop was Green Man Brewery, less than
a 5-minute walk from Burial. This was another large brewery with
multiple bars on multiple levels. We enjoyed the challenge of stacking rocks after having
visited several breweries. Our last stop in this area was Catawba Brewery, which is less than a five-minute walk from Green Man. This was also a large brewery with a lively atmosphere. We decided to explore more of downtown
Asheville before heading back to our hotel. We found ourselves at the Thirsty
Monk near Prichard Park. We spend time at the downstairs bar and enjoyed some
delicious Belgian beers. We walked around the Prichard Park area and enjoyed the large drum circle before heading back to our hotel. We had quite a fun
day in Asheville and would have no trouble finding another day’s worth of
breweries to visit if we come back again. Stay tuned for our second day in the
Asheville area. We hike and climb our way to several waterfalls in the Pisgah National Forest. For more travel videos, subscribe to our Channel and turn the notifications on. Thanks for watching!
