Bacon Blue Burger Recipe | Grilling at Speedweek


Today on the Grill Top Experience we are coming
to you from the Bonneville Salt Flats. This week is Speedweek where they go as fast
as they can on the Salt Flats and some of them are going over 400 MPH. It’s a great place and we have a perfect
view and a perfect place to grill. Today we are going to make up some bacon bleu
cheeseburgers, coming up. Every good burger starts with a side. We set the burners to medium and tossed some
waffle fries into a cast iron pan a few minutes early because they will take longer to cook
than the burgers so we gave the a headstart. I made the bleu burgers earlier so I didn’t
have to worry about keeping my hands clean in a place with no running water. They are 1/2 pound ground chuck with a tablespoon
or two of blue cheese with a little salt and pepper for seasoning. After a 5 minutes or so it’s time to give
the burgers a flip. Don’t forget to toss your fries so the ones
on the bottom don’t burn. This is a good time to add salt and pepper
or whatever seasoning you’d like. While we are waiting for the burgers to cook,
Speedweek is a great place to see classic cars, highly modified vehicles ready to go
fast, a few cars rusted from all the salt. You’ll see some of the craziest motorcycles,
and one of a kind vehicles with the sole purpose of speed. It’s worth the trip. Back at the grill I added a slice of cheddar
to one of the burgers and saved one for those of you that don’t want the extra cheese. You probably noticed that these burgers stuck
because I forgot the oil to grease the grates, so learn from my fail and always put oil on
the grates right before you grill. Finally, put your buns on the grill to get
golden brown and pull them when they are toasted like you like this helps keep the bun from
getting soggy from the juicy burger. Then it’s time to build the burger. Add lettuce, tomato and of course, bacon! This burger turned out at least 10 times better
