We’ve been doing the Back to Back camp
for 10 years now, it’s been great. You know, we get back to the diabetes
foundation here and it’s amazing. I have a lot of fun, I get to see kids that are
coming back year after year, so it’s been good. My connection with diabetes is my
mother and father both had type-2 diabetes. When I was growing up my father
ended up passing away from complications with diabetes he ended up getting both legs
amputated while I actually was at the University of Florida and my mother’s
still living with type 2 diabetes, so it hits home for me and it’s very important for me.
Corey Brewer cares about people with diaabetes. He cares about the the
children in our community. He cares about diabetes as a cause. He is an absolute
role model for graduates of the University of Florida that had benefited
and you know I am so grateful to what he has done for the community
here and what he’ll do for the University of Florida. My goal with diabetes is to raise awareness and just impact anywhere I can to help people who
have diabetes or who may not know they have diabetes to get checked.
