VIDEO PRODUCTION, GRAPHIC DESIGN, NUTRITION, AND OF COURSE COOKING.

HOMES, SO THEY REALLY WANTED TO LEARN THE BASICS OF COOKS.

SOME OF THE STUDENTS ARE FROM FAMILY WHOSE RECENTLY CAME TO THE U.S. AS IMMIGRANTS AND
REFUGEES, THEY BROUGHT TRADITIONAL RECIPES AND COOKING SMARTS TO THE SHOW.
AND A CONNECTION TO FOOD. IN THIS EPISODE, THE STUDENTS ARE MAKING GREEN
PAPAYA SALAD, NATHAN GOT THE RECIPE FROM HIS GRAND PARENTS. NATHAN TELLS THE STORY ON THE

A MONK BECAUSE HIS PARENTS GOT KILLED AND HE REALLY LIKED PAPAYA SALAD SO THEY DECIDED
TO START BRINGING THE SALAD TO HIM BECAUSE HE DIDN’T HAVE NOBODY.

EATING HABITS. RESEARCHERS FOUND THAT IMMIGRANTS TEND TO BE IN BETTER SHAPE THAN AMERICANS.
IT’S KNOWN AS THE HEALTHY IMMIGRANT EFFECT.>>>>: HEALTHY EATING PRACTICES ARE STILL
ALIVE HERE. I CAN SEE IT WITH THIS GROUP OF YOUTH, THEY’RE STARTING TO EAT MORE JUNK FOOD.
