Discover the top 5 newest Breweries in Michigan

I’m John Gonzalez and I’m Amy Sherman
we’re the Michigan’s best team and this time we are talking all about beer.
That’s right Amy we visited 30 breweries in all parts of Michigan and traveled
2,500 miles in search of Michigan’s best new brewery. Coming in at number 5 is
Cedar Springs Brewing Company. Guess where they’re located; Cedar Springs! These guys specialize in German based beer recipes and German food but they
also offer American craft favorites and American fare. Cedar Springs even won a
bronze medal in the South German wheat category of a 2016 great American Beer
Festival. Coming in at number four is Hop Lot Brewing Company which is located in beautiful Suttons Bay. This brewery is owned by brothers Steve and Drew Lutke and turned a hobby of home brewing into a gem of a place. And since
they have no plans to distribute you’ll have to visit this rustic brewery in
person to try their hoppy and traditional ales on tap. Be sure to head downtown to try to checkout Batch Brewing Company. You can get something clean and easy like the auerbock. Or go with something shiny and new
like the Marta-Rita which featured smoked sea salt candied pineapple and I
know Amy you love the agave nectar. Head out to Bridgman because you’ll find
Transient Artisan Ales at number two. These beers are absolutely fantastic. They are open fermented with wild yeast and bacteria and it creates some of the most
interesting beers you’ll find in Michigan. They are always evolving. This
is a place for true craft beer lovers who are interested to see where the
future of beer is going. Be sure to try the hueco especially if it’s on nitro it’s an all Michigan Brett pale with aroma that goes on for days. Coming in at number 1 Stormcloud Brewing Company in Frankfort. Brewing Belgian inspired Michigan made beer and locally inspired food strong cloud it has it going on.
They also support Michigan grown hops. Their flagship beer is the Rainmaker ale
a classic Belgian Pale Ale and was one of the winners at the 2014 Great
American Beer Festival competition. Amy I think owner Rick said it best
when I said not only did they want to create great beer but a sense of
community and they have that in Frankfort. That’s our pick for 2016 best
new brewery here in Michigan; Stormcloud Brewing in Frankfort.
