Easy Strawberry Baked Oatmeal Recipe – How to Make Baked Oatmeal


We’re Adam and Joanne from www.inspiredtaste.net and welcome to our kitchen. We’re making our Baked Oatmeal with Strawberries, Banana and Chocolate. An easy and fun breakfast. Let’s do it! Pre-heat your oven to 375 degrees F. Grab a dish. And generously spray with cooking spray. We’ll need some strawberries…so give them a rinse. Then hull and slice enough strawberries so you have about 1 cup. Now grab some walnuts. Measure out about 1/2 cup… and give them a rough chop. Next up the chocolate. Give it a chop or just use chocolate chips. You want about 1/3 cup. Now lets start putting things together. In a large bowl. Add 2 cups oats… 1/3 cup brown sugar… 1 teaspoon of baking powder… Next, add about 1 tablespoon of orange zest… 1 teaspoon Chinese five spice… and a little salt. Now for the good stuff. Half of the walnuts… Half of the chocolate and half of the strawberries go in. Give it a stir… and move onto the wet ingredients. You’ll need 1 egg… 3 tablespoons of butter… that’s been melted… and 2 cups of milk. Add them all together. add a couple dashes of vanilla extract… and give it a whisk. Until combined. Slice a banana… Then assemble. Put all of the oats into a baking dish… top with nuts, chocolate and the rest of the strawberries. Add the bananas… then pour the wet ingredients all over. Now just shimmy or shake that dish so that the milk mixture goes throughout the oats. Bake 35-40 or until the top is nicely golden brown or the milk mixture is set. You could serve the oatmeal now or add a little brown sugar to the top. Set your oven to broil.. and cook for about 1 minute or until bubbly. And thats it. Just grab some bowls and serve warm.

  1. If you don't like Chinese five spice you can try using some of the ingredients that are in most five spices blends to make your own blend. These are the typical spices: anise, cinnamon, star anise, cloves and ginger.

  2. Having it on the train on the way to work is a great idea. Making it a night before is a great way to use the recipe but we prefer it hot/warm. That is only our preference though. If you are a cold oatmeal fan that should work just fine.

  4. I don't think that this is a healthy option for breakfast!!!you have the butter,way too much sugar…You could make it more like a "healthy" cheat meal…Nonetheless,it should taste great!!

  8. Hi. Oats are a bit strong on my digestion. What nut flour (s) would you recommend to replace the oats? Also, with the nut flour, the dessert may be more of a snack cake instead of the texture using oats. I don't mind that at all. Also, I may have to add the custard into the nut flour instead of pouring it over the top, what's your ideas? Anyhoos, this is an awesome breakfast, snack, or dessert. Luv it!

  10. its packed with lots of sugar….not good…better ommit sugar…sweetness of banana and strawberry will do the trick plus its healthier.

  11. I left out the chocolate and the Orange zest for personal preference. I added a half cup of brown sugar and I think I would double this and bake it in the 9 by 13.

  13. I would substitute the dark chocolate with white chocolate, since I don't like dark chocolate with fruit that much.

  14. would this work with cinnamon instead of five spice. I'm gonna try it anyway and also sub strawberries for dates since i don't have strawberries but so wanna make this. one more question could i sub sugar with honey i know will need to cut out on wet jngredients

  15. you should shorten your videos and get to the point. There's no need for this over production. Looks good though, but I almost turned it off because of the extra nonsense between the actual recipe.

  16. i had this today omg DELICIOUS….i did swap the ingrediants to apple n cashews as i had them in …me n my partner ate the lot …was scrummy …n sod people bitchin about sugar ..its not even a lot 3rd of a cup its just people lately hear sugar n freak out….loosers a little in moderation…i eat super healthy so this for a weekend went down a treat….sod sugar haters this was great 😊😊😊
