D IF YOU’RE PLANNING TO FIRE UP THE GRILL THIS WEEKEND, GRILLED SALAD. TONY AND STEPHANIE SHOW US HOW. OKAY. WE LOVE ROMAINE, GREAT LETTUCE, LEAF LETTUCE. ROMAINE, GRILLED SALAD? WE LOVE TO HAVE VEGETABLES AND IT IS A VEGETABLE. WE’RE GOING TO MAKE IT GRILLED ROMAINE SALAD. YOU HAVE THE REMAIN HEARTS. TRIM OFF THE TOP LEAVES BECAUSE THEY CAN BE A LITTLE TOO LEAFY TO BE TECHNICAL. WE’LL BRUSH THESE WITH THE VINEGARRETTE. YOU HAVE SO MANY FLAVORS GOING ON AT ONE FINAL. ROMAINE HAS A NICE FLAVOR TO IT, BUT IT IS VERY LIGHT. YOU CAN HAVE A VERY STRONG DRESSING. ONCE YOU PAINT THEM, THROW THEM ON THE GRILL. OKAY. WE HAVE SOME GOING. PUT THESE ON TOO. FOR MAYBE TEN MINUTES. BUT CHECK ON THEM. IF YOUR GRILL RUNS HOT, YOU DON’T WANT TO BURN THESE. WE’RE GOING TO TAKE THESE OFF. WE’RE GOOD. I WANT TO KEEP THESE CHAR MARKS ON THEM SO WE PLATE THESE. THERE WE GO. THERE YOU GO. WITH THE REMAINING DRESSING BECAUSE YOU PROBABLY HAVE SOME AND THE TOPS CUT OFF, WE DON’T LIKE TO WASTE THINGS AS WE KNOW. WE’LL POUR A LITTLE ON HERE. SOSA SALAD WITH THE TOPS OF THE ROMAINE, OUTER LEAVES OF THE ROMAINE. AND WHY WASTE THEM. THEY ARE DRESSED AND WE’LL PUT THAT ON TOP LIKE THIS. CAN YOU PUT SOME PARMESAN ON THERE, SHAVED. SURE. AND A LITTLE MORE SALT AND PEPPER. HOLD ON A SECOND. THERE YOU GO. SALT AND PEPPER HERE, STEPH? NICE. LOOK AT THAT. GRILLED OUTDOOR SALAD.
