Healthy Cooking Fats

Hey, it’s Leah with Deep Rooted Wellness. Don’t forget to follow me on Facebook, YouTube,
or Instagram for more quick tips like these. Today I wanted to talk to you about healthy
cooking fats. If you are using something like olive oil
for cooking, this is a healthy, monounsaturated fat. It’s for heart disease, prevents certain types
of cancer, it can even help control weight. But this is not a good choice for cooking. A monounsaturated fat can actually oxidize
your food while you’re cooking with it. The whole reason we eat antioxidants is to
combat those oxidative compounds. So, a better choice for cooking is to use
a saturated fat, something like lard or coconut oil, butter or ghee. Any saturated fat will be solid at room temperature. And these fats will not have that same negative
impact on your food. So, switching your fats over to a solid, saturate
fat make a huge difference in your overall health. Thanks for watching! Don’t forget to follow me for more tips like
these.
