How to Make Easy Baked Cod Fish | The Stay At Home Chef

Today on The Stay At Home Chef I’m showing
you how to make Easy Baked Cod Fish This recipe is easy to make and you get this
lemon garlic cod fish that is super tasty! To start, preheat your oven to 400 degrees
Fahrenheit and lightly grease a small baking dish Just place your cod fish portions directly
down into the prepared pan Then we’re going to season each of our cod
fish portions with a little bit of salt and black pepper Set that aside and we’re going to put together a lemon garlic topping that makes this cod
fish super delicious You’ll need 1/4 cup of softened butter in
a mixing bowl You just want to make sure that butter is
super soft at room temperature Then you’ll need 2 tablespoons of freshly
grated parmesan cheese Sprinkle that in along with 1 tablespoon of
all-purpose flour and 3 cloves of minced garlic Then you’ll need 1 teaspoon of dried basil 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder and then 1 teaspoon of dijon mustard Last you’ll need the juice from 1 lemon which
is about 1/4 cup Pour that in Then you’ll want to take your spoon and mash
that all together with the butter It’s kind of a weird clumpy mixture but I
promise this is super tasty! It should be a nice thick mixture and it’s
okay if it has these clumps of butter because that butter will melt all over our
fish as it bakes in the oven Next you’ll want to take large spoon fulls and scoop it directly on top of the cod fish You want to divide it up fairly evenly so
that you use all of your butter mixture You want each piece to get smothered with
that buttery garlic lemon goodness Then we’re going to bake this in the 400 degree
oven for about 10 minutes Your actual cooking time will depend on the
thickness and size of your cod fish pieces So if they’re a little bit on the thick side
you may want to add a few more minutes and if they’re on
the thin side well you want to decrease the time by a little
bit too Your fish is done when it flakes easily with
a fork Garnish it with some lemon slices and maybe a little bit of freshly chopped parsley for
color and you are ready to eat! Thanks for watching! You can find the full written recipe in the

  1. Another luscious recipe! Thank you 🙂 I've never commented before but I have been watching you for years … I've made many of your recipes and this is another that is going on my list tonight! Do you think not adding the flour would make a significant difference? I know the sauce would be thinner without it but I can't imagine it would impact the taste … curious as to what you think … I'm going to try it without the flour anyway … it simply can't be bad! Thanks again for all of your creativity and genuineness <3

  2. Americans and their ill habit for adding cheese in every dish ruins the recipes! 😦

I live in Europe, where they consume fish almost everyday, but never I’ve seen adding cheese to fish, not the Italians or French. There’s a big health factor why they don’t. Anyway, without the cheese this is such an excellent dish.

  3. This is an awesome recipe! Thank you! I did not have the basil or onion powder but did have everything else and even added some chives to the mix and it was so so good!

  5. This is strange. She appears to be making a dish with things I actually have in my pantry. What, no dinosaur eggs or the hair of angels? No cod fish captured in the Halls of Valhalla or gold flakes? I'll be damned. Something I can actually make.

  6. Fish is one of the healthest foods a person can eat , is recommended by doctors and is part of every health consious diet. SO, why does most recipes for fish include real butter?

  7. I cooked 15 min because I thought it would be thick but it came out chewy, so I would recommend to stick to the 10 min.. also I didn’t have basil and Dijon mustard but it was really tasty

  8. Thank you thank you…this is a recipe I can do….I have all the ingredients in my pantry or refrigerator except the Cod which I can get fresh at my fish market grocer.
