Korean Traditional Braised chicken(Andong Jjimdak) Recipe!


This is Andong, South Korea, famous traditional city. We are going to cook most famous food from Andong. ANDONG JJIMDAK glass noodle Put glass noodles in cold water and keep them for 1 hour. 2 Potatoes carrot, chili, Garlic, Chayote, onions, Green onion Cut green onions to 1.5 cm size. Slice green onions like this. They are for garnish. Cut onions to size good for one bite. Cut potatoes and put them in water. Cut carrots to the size good for one bite. If you don’t have chayote, you can substitute it with any hard vegetable you want. Cut chili half. If you don’t like spicy don’t put chili. Crush garlic. Brown sugar ¼ cup Water ¼ cup Caramelize the sugar. Don’t stir with spoon. Caramelize util it becomes this much sticky. Black bean paste(CHOONJANG) 1⁄2 Tablespoon. If you don’t have this, it’s okay. this is for color only. Oyster sauce 30g Soy sauce 1⁄2 cup + 4 Tablespoon Water 4 cup If you don’t have glass noodle, add 3 cups water more. Ginger Put Chicken in boiling water for 1 minute. Wash the Chicken with flowing water. Chicken, Garlic, Chili, Black pepper. Boil it for 20 mins. Remove the oil on the surface. Put all remaining vegetables and boil it for 15 mins. After 15 minutes Put the onions and glass noodle. Once glass noodles are well cooked, it is done and ready to eat. Garnish with green onions.
