Meet The Brewer: ShinDigger Brewing Co.

So ShinDigger started
around five years ago. Me and my business partner George were at University in Manchester. So it started off buying a home brew kit, made a cheap beer and whatnot. And then from that went to
selling beers to friends, and then went into selling
beer at house parties. And then after that we kind of realised there might be something there. So we’ll start with the
West Coast Pale Ale. This is our flagship beer,
and it really kinda like summarises our tagline,
‘Enjoy the Moment.’ So it’s 4.7%, and it’s packed with hops from America. So this is called Amarillo, really citrusy really orangey, really easy drinkin’. – Oh, yeah. – Next one we’re going to go for is probably my favorite of our range. It’s called “Everything’s Peachy.” And it’s a easy drinking 4.2% session ale. We blend it with peaches,
to give it a sort of even more kind of fruity aroma and flavour. See the idea is that it’s
not too peachy. But it just kind of
balances out really well with the hops so it’s
kind of like perfect, easy-drinking, nice and
sort of sweet edge to it but really well balanced.
– Summer in a can. – Yeah, exactly summer in a can. – Yeah, that’s got afternoon
written all over it, that. – So here’s another one of my favorites It’s the Mango Unchained. So again, easy drinking session IPA blended with mangoes and pineapples. Some people describe it
as a ruby kind of beer which I think kind of works quite well. So you can really smell it in the nose. – Um, yeah, wow. – Bags of flavour, easy drinking, again still trying to
keep it quite well-rounded. So the can designs really
are the face of our brand. Not taking yourself too
seriously, but to be fun, easy going, approachable,
and kind of vibrant as well. We try and work as much as
possible with local illustrators. So the Mango and the Peach
was done by Ben Lamb, who’s done a fantastic job on those. – So what’s on the horizon for ShinDigger, what do you have coming up? – So firstly we’ve got
loads of new beer releases coming out this year. We’re putting out one every three weeks. The next one being La Vida Coco, which is a coconut and cacao nib porter. – Alright, sticking with a tropical theme. – Yeah, exactly, as always, We’ve recently launched
ShinDigger Live which is our direct beer delivery service. It’s like an on-demand thing. If you’re living in south
Manchester at the moment soon to be the whole of Manchester, get on our app and pick a beer and in 45 minutes you get a
fresh draft beer to your door. So really, we’re just trying to create approachable and flavoursome beers that don’t take themselves too seriously. With an authentic and fun brand behind it.
