Menomonie: Making Memories Off-Campus

Menomonie: Making Memories Off-Campus

(uplifting music) – In Menomonie as a whole, I love hiking. There’s so many hiking
areas, Hoffman Hills, there is Red Cedar Trail. These are just beautiful
places to go on walks and hiking and just explore nature, which I really love to do. And just the scenery of Menomonie
and Stout, it’s gorgeous. There’s also a beautiful historic downtown which has little shops. There is wonderful restaurants and bars if you’re old enough. And just awesome food to try. – So I made the mistake my freshman year of not going off campus, and then I was like, “oh my goodness, “there’s so much here my sophomore year”. So like Ted’s Pizza is really good. – Acoustic Cafe has the best hoagies ever and Lucette has amazing handmade pizza. If you’re a foodie like me, Menomonie is where it’s at. (laughs) – So the outdoor activities, I enjoy here at Stout are, we have the beautiful lake
so I love going fishing. There is hiking, the Red Cedar Trails
along the beautiful river. It’s so gorgeous. And then we’re known
for Devil’s Punchbowl, which is an amazing landmark. – I love the small town feel of it. I mean being a person from London, which is a city of like 16 million people, it’s really nice to walk around and see familiar faces, instead of feeling like a lost
fish in a really big pond. So I love being able to
walk into a coffee shop and immediately see people I know and start up a study session
or talking one on one. And then we also have some
new breweries in town as well which I like to go to with my friends to just kick back after a long day, or a weekend or something like that. – I really, really come to love Menomonie and there’s so many places to
hang out that are super fun. There’s just a lot to do outside of Stout. (uplifting music)
