The brewery comes along as a project to
help support ourselves financially and it also makes a way for people to meet us, which we value. We think our spirituality has something to offer to the world, and we want people to come here and meet us. Monastic beer-making goes back more
than a thousand years. The oldest operating breweries in the world are Benedictine breweries. We’ve been here since 1882. We were founded by a monastery in Switzerland that has a history of 900 years. It’s not a religious hard sell. There’s
no proselytizing going on. but we know that there’s something different here, and that’s what we want people to experience. Plus the good beer.
