New Belgium Brewing Taps into Hybrid IT with Dell EMC PowerEdge

At New Belgium Brewing Company we have three pillars;
sustainability, whimsy and beer We produce world-class beers. Our
products are delicious and the culture is really amazing. With our expansion of
our business and having a second brewery, we wanted to move our enterprise
applications to a third party location. That’s when we initially started wading
into the public cloud because you know everyone is doing it, right. And then after a
few years, I mean it was expensive and we’re paying for things that we didn’t
necessarily need. That’s why we actually moved everything back on, from using
PowerEdge servers and we found significant cost savings over the course
of, a number of years. The applications that we run in our on-premise solution
are ERP, CRM with sequel database backends, we run Skype for business,
we run data analytics and cubes, as well as other business intelligence,
applications. For the brewing process, all of the servers that manage the recipes,
need to remain on site due to latency. People don’t realize that IT is present
in all aspects of the brewing process. It’s just foundational to the entire
brewing and business process. Beer market is very competitive. We have a
lot of opportunity here in the US as well as internationally. Technology is going to
play a big role. We need to continue to evolve and leverage technology to make
us more efficient and effective. Dell technologies has really grown with us
from a small brewery and the basement to one of the largest craft brewers in the
US. Taking the time to understand what we were trying to achieve and providing
us with the right guidance and solutions and really partnering with us, has been a
huge success and where we’ve gotten today Dell EMC powered by Intel Xeon scalable processors
