Paste – 2-3 tomatoes, 1inch baton ginger and 2 green chilly Cumin seeds – ½ tsp. Asafoetida – 1-2 pinch Turmeric powder – ½ tsp Coriander powder – 1 tsp Red chilly – ¼ tsp Salt – as per taste (1 tsp) Garam masala – less then ¼ tsp Green coriander – 1 tbsp (finely chopped) Oil – to make sabzi Cut banana Remove stalk from both ends , peel the skin and cut into ½ inch pieces. Soak the pieces in water if cooking lately. We will boil the pieces. So add turmeric powder and salt in water before boiling them. Let the bananas boil for up to 5 minutes. Cover and cook for 3-4 more minutes once water starts boiling. Cover and cook for 3-4 more minutes once water starts boiling. Take out bananas in sieve so that excess water drains out. Add 1-1.5 tbsp oil in pan. When oil gets heated add cumin seeds and asafoetida Also add turmeric powder, coriander powder and tomato paste. Add red chilly as well. Roast masala until oil starts floating on the surface. It takes 3-4 minutes for roasting the masala Keep stirring after every 1-2 minutes. Now add salt, garam masala and boiled bananas in the masala. Cook and stir until bananas get coated nicely with the masala. Add green coriander. Always add green coriander in the last so that it smells better for long. Appetizing and tempting raw banana fry is ready. We have made this sabzi from 500 grams banana. This much quantity of sabzi can be served to 4-5 family members. Serve with roti, parantha or rice.
