Summer Grilling Safety Tips

it’s this time of year grilling season a lot of families are out there barbecuing but you have to be safe and with me today I have Melissa and Russell with puerile clean to give us some tips on exactly how to do that so welcome River City live I’m excited you guys are here because I mean there’s nothing worse like the last thing you want a family get-together and something bad to happen and there’s some things you should look out for before you start grilling up yeah definitely we need prepare before that we decided to have that barbecue maybe a little bit a couple days in advance so we can go over some safety tips make sure the grill is at least 10 feet from your house before we dive into that can you just give it over your pure clean because you guys know so much sure yeah we are a full-service restoration company where we do water fire and mold cleanup biohazard cleanup and after the cleanup is complete and we can restructure out do the reconstruction of your home and make your home like like it never happened before repairs sometimes your home will even look better than it did before yeah and that’s a great service I have obviously there’s a lot of things you guys help out with and now back to the actual grilling component of it so we’re should we start with us so what I like to do is at the beginning of the season I like to be careful when we open our grill and make sure that we don’t have any nests that have formed rats or mice or even wasps nests before we open the grill and then when we do do to the grill we want to do an inspection of our grill like for instance I brought this here because this is a gas line which it which attaches to a propane tank and this one happened to be too close to the fire which caused it now it has a leak which would which obviously would cause a safety and fire hazard this is what we use it’s not a grill but it’s used for slow country boils which is outdoor fun for the same same example and then we want to look at our grills and make sure that they’re not rusted and corroded make sure that that’s good Melissa yeah when it comes to family it’s like keeping you know Pat’s and family members safe what are you ready yeah well making them aware we’re all about being aware and keeping people prepared so making sure they know where the grill is on making sure they know the potential dangers of it and just keeping the grilling area clear of of children and pets mostly and that’s really important and you know I like what you said to begin with you know sometimes we haven’t grilled in a while and it’s really dirty there might be nest in so really take the time and do some thorough cleaning and inspection of it do you off the top your head you know like are there something like top mistakes that people traditionally make that you see time and time again in the field yes they well for one they have the real too close to their home they have it over and Eve and they’re putting too much food on it especially greasy food they open it causes you know the fire to flare up it causes smoke to go into their home if that’s the case please turn off your air conditioning as soon as possible so the smoke doesn’t travel through the home and also if you live in a condo or an apartment complex Ramanna you’re not supposed to cook on your balconies because there’s fire sprinkler systems which will activate so you have to be very careful of that all speaking that if you actually do have a yard how far away should you be then from your property you know sometimes you would think it’s common sense but when you’re in the middle of it maybe you’re closer than you think yeah well the good rule of thumb is you want to be 10 feet away from your home a table with a tablecloth plants things of that nature and then what do you recommend people should have you know a fire extinguisher – sure so don’t worry like what you know again cuz sometimes it’s a grease fire and that could be really dangerous for sure we definitely don’t want to put water on a grease fire is that that’ll be dangerous we want to have an ABC a steamer sure which we get any big-box store which is safe to keep I and make sure it’s updated make sure it’s in the Green Line that hasn’t expired that’s very important to do and if for some reason your your propane tank oh another thing which we always talk about the grill itself we really need to inspect a propane tank because if it’s rusty you need it it’s time to be turned in and get a new tank that’s a great tip all right to learn more or to contact Piro clean you could give them a call at nine zero four four nine five zero nine five zero thank you guys great information right now we’re gonna send it over to Rance
