Good day AniMalupet viewers! Crabbing together with my brother and our neighbor “Dimdim”. Today we will catch mud crabs using this trap. This trap is made up of rattan and stone put at the side of trap that serves as for weighty. By 4 pm we will start dropping our trap. We will go now here at the side to put bait in our trap. This is our bait, we cut the fish so that the mud crabs can easily smell the bait. We put our bait inside the cans so that the crab cannot easily eat the bait faster. We will go now to the area where we will drop our traps. Sunset is the best time in dropping traps because there are many crabs coming out during night. We will drop seven traps. Tomorrow we will see our trap and we will go home now because the wind suddenly became strong we might be caught by the rain. We have one catch mud crab. The can where we put the bait inside the trap was disappear. It might be swept away by big crab. We met a man catching crabs the same also to this trap we used. When I was teenage, I know how tie crabs I am catching crabs before that’s my hobby after going home from school. It is a female mud crab we will release this so that it will multiply. BFAR encourage not to catch female mud crabs to maintain the growth of population of mud crabs. The female crabs can produce millions of eggs. We will release also the small crabs. The overall weight of our catch is 1.7 kilograms.
