back to Weekly Words. Let’s see what we have for this week. This week’s theme is cooking.
Let’s see what we have about this topic, cooking. So first word is 소금 (sogeum) meaning “salt.”
It literally means small gold because in the past, the price of salt was almost like the
price of gold. With that word, you can say 김치를 만들 때 소금을 많이 넣습니다.
(Gimchireul mandeul ttae sogeumeul mani neosseumnida.) which means “We put a lot of salt when making Kimchi.” Okay next word is 후추 (huchu) which means
“pepper.” With the word, you can say 불고기 위에 후추가 많이 있습니다.
(Bulgogi wie huchuga mani itsseumnida.) which means “There is a lot of pepper on top of bulgogi.”
Bulgogi is the marinated beef in Korean style. Okay and the next word is 재료 (jaeryo)
which means “ingredient.” Ingredient, with that word, you can say 저녁을 만들기
위해서 수퍼에서 음식재료를 샀습니다.
(Jeonyeogeul mandeulgi wihaeseo supeoeseo eumsikjaeryoreul satsseumnida.) which means “I bought some ingredients from a supermarket for making dinner.” Okay and next we have 바비큐 (babikyu)
which means “barbeque.” With that word, you can say 제 동생은 바비큐를 좋아합니다.
(Je dongsaengeun babikyureul joahamnida.) which means “My younger brother likes barbeque.” Okay and next we have 볶다 (bokda) which
is the verb meaning “stir fry.” 맛있는 볶음밥을 만들기 위해서 밥을 볶았습니다.
(Masinneun bokkeumbabeul mandeulgi wihaeseo babeul bokkatsseumnida.) which means “I stir fried rice to make a delicious bokkeumbap.” which is rice with vegetables. Okay next we have end. Okay that’s all the
