Just like picking the right beer, Picking the right compressor for the right application is critical to it. You want to sure you have the right fit. All the right components that go along with it. These units we are recommending to you are what we tend to use in our craft beer industries. This is 15 horsepower Chicago Pneumatic QRS 15. It’s tank mounted. It has a air treatment package built right on to it. It’s a great unit. It’s really compact. It gives us enough room for the breweries to get started and have some room for expansion as well with the 15 horsepower. It has some great features to it as well. The intank mounted to the sides of it. It’s got a top discharge for the air, so it’s easy to vent if we’re going to vent it outside. It’s got a built in controller on it which helps us adjust and run the compressor. Adjust the stops, starts.. and some of the maintenance features that go along with it. One of the great features with this unit is the face that it is a tri-voltage unit. And it’s completely.. re-wireable right inside this panel right here. So if you’re a little unsure of it and you get there.. your electrician tells you need something different. A simple adjustment in here gets us to exactly what we need to be and get you up and running very quickly. One of the things we look at when we are talking about … a Rotary Screw or a Rotary main compressor vs. a reciprocating piston style compressor is the noise level of what we… can work with and where the space is. We talk about… how much space we need. But does that noise affect your process? Is it going to bother the workers while it’s in your room? A compressor pounding away or something a lot quieter? One of the advantages you can see is that it’s a fully enclosed unit. What the enclosure does is it knocks that noise level down… to be tolerable. So if we get into decimal levels we’re at 70, 73 decimal. It allows you to work along side of that without using any hearing protection. Which is huge. You don’t want your workers in there listening to a piston compressor pound away. Being a package like this… is really good on the noise side. it help everything overall and keeps your employees a lot happier. One of the other big advantages of these compressor is the ability to access everything right from the front panel. As you can see right here You need to check the oil on these daily. This one already has the hole cut so you can get a visual of the oil levels. By the way, we always check the oil on these units when they’re not running. So we have two tabs on the front that allows us to latch the panel. A little key that pops open and unlatches the panel. Unhook the panel. drop the panel right off the unit. That gives us access right in. You can see very clearly oil filter, the separator, the air filters in there. All of our drains are right here for the oil. So it’s really simple to use and really simple to maintain. I wanted to show you and give you some idea of how quick and easy it is to rewire this motor and the compressor to get it to switch voltages. On the door… here they actually give you complete diagrams of everything has to be adjusted or changed to accept the different voltages.The 208-230 and the 460 volt. A couple jumpers, a couple movement of the lines. and everything is up and going. Realistically, you are looking at 10-15 minutes rewire this from 230 volt to a 460 volt. Which again, in our opinion probably the easiest and the best in the industry to be able to do that with.
