Why I Cook With CBD

spoiler alert CBD does not get you high it is not the same thing as THC hi I’m crystal and something that you probably wouldn’t know by looking at me is that I have arthritis when my doctor told me in my early 20s that I had arthritis I laughed I literally thought he was joking so long story short I’ve had to adjust my lifestyle and along the way I’ve learned a lot about natural pain management and that’s where CVD comes in so today I’m gonna be making my favorite treat which is dark chocolate peanut butter CBD cups CBD is short for cannabidiol which I definitely had to look up how to say that right and I might still be saying it wrong but it’s the chemical compound found abundantly in the cannabis plant and I really want to clarify that CBD is not the same thing as THC THC is the chemical compound found in marijuana that gets you high but CBD on the other hand is not psychoactive in the same way as THC so people don’t use pure CBD to get high but it’s becoming more and more popular as a natural remedy so the reason I started incorporating CBD into my daily routine is that I found it helps manage my arthritis there’s not a ton of research yet but I found a couple of small studies that suggested acts as a pain reliever and as an anti-inflammatory which for me is really important because I don’t want to have to rely on medication and I’d really rather use a natural form of pain management milk chocolate also works really great for these I just personally prefer dark chocolate because it’s a bit of a deeper flavor and is a little less sweet we did the math using the brand of pure CBD oil that I buy and found that about one tablespoon of oil evens out across the number of cups that I make so that eating – peanut butter cups equals about one dosage but the amount needed can actually vary by brand and really by person so this is just what works for me you can definitely try out any kind of nut butter that you want here they’ll all work I just personally really love the classic peanut butter chocolate combo and the reason that we’re using coconut oil here is that the CBD needs to bind with something that has a high fat content in order to help it absorb into the body so you can actually add the cvd to the chocolate or you can add it later to the nut butter because nuts are also high in healthy fats so here’s the deal I totally understand that CBD is still a relatively new thing to most people and is still in the early stages of testing but look I live with a degenerative joint disease that causes me a lot of pain so rather than complain all the time and Zonk out on pain medication I tried CBD and I found that it gave me some relief I even read some preliminary studies that suggest CBD could reduce anxiety and act as an antidepressant but it’s not right for everyone and that’s totally okay I found that it works for me so if I can add it to some chocolate and some peanut butter and then my joints don’t feel like I’m 117 when I try to walk up a flight of stairs then I’m a happy girl and there you go this is a super simple recipe that I like to make in different shapes and sizes and I like to judge it up with different toppings sometimes I love adding hemp arts because it gives it a nice crunch and just kind of seems fitting one last thing what is a shark’s favorite sandwich it’s a peanut butter and jelly fish problem that I have [Music]

  1. HI, I have spondylitis (bechterev) also inflamatory arthritis and I would like to know mor about CBD remedy. I am from Europe and feel that CBD isnt that spread yet in my country, not to mention it might be forbidden.

  2. WARNINGS:
-CBD oil is unregulated—literally anyone can start selling it without getting approved. The amounts very greatly from manufacturer to manufacturer and that should be a pretty big red flag.
-there is evidence that CBD helps treat some kinds of epilepsy, but so far, that’s it. Any ideas that it helps with other disorders and conditions are based on small, self-reported studies and anecdotes—not rigorous science.
-CBD isn’t well-absorbed by the digestive tract, so you many not even be getting much at all.

Basically, if this helps treat your pain (either chemically or through the placebo effect), fine, it’s your money. It probably won’t hurt you. You might be getting way more than the amount necessary to feel an effect or way not enough. But keep it away from kids because the effects haven’t been thoroughly studied enough and they aren’t old enough to consent to be experimented on.
    Remember, “natural” isn’t always better.

  3. This is really cool. Thank you for this and being very clear on it doesn’t work for everyone. ❤️

  4. That joke toward the end was slightly humorous, and it also made me wonder if she's sure she's not taking the THC. 3:20

  5. Dr Budwig's Protocol (a natural cure for cancer) has also been found to be a cure for arthritis.

  6. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid discovered in 1940. It is one of some 113 identified cannabinoids in cannabis plants and accounts for up to 40% of the plant's extract. In 2018, clinical research on cannabidiol included preliminary studies of anxiety, cognition, movement disorders, and pain.

it has no flavor, it’s not food, it’s an extract like lavender extract and essential oil extract. stop advertising it like it’s food.

  7. I have terrible terrible period cramps. Run in my family. So bad I’ve had to stay home from school. I’ve been suggested to take low dose birth control (at 12)
My parents don’t want to do that yet.
Would CBD oil work for that? Anyone know?

  8. CBD also does not give negative side effects like other chemicals found in drugs and DOES NOT NEGATIVELY AFFECT THE BRAIN. It is very beneficial but only take it for medicinal or instructed use, like for arthritis in this video. THC does work with CBD but only is beneficial for medicinal use and/or if you are over 21 for low risks. It is much more safer than alcohol but only if used correctly, like any other legal drug.
    The More You Know…

  9. There's a reason you put the drops under your tongue and not eat it. This is a good idea but you don't get the full affect the CBD is supposed to give you.

  10. After grandma's arrested, jailed at Disney for carrying CBD oil, I have no idea if I can legally order it or not. CBD oil is legal in America, but at the same time not. If that makes sense… Which it doesn't. Is mailing CBD oil legal?

  11. Seriously questioned-
Since it is federally illegal to add CBD in food or supplements, is it illegal to do this?
Or is it that law regarding sellers only? Can you advertise a CBD for recipe purposes, as in "you can use our CBD into your brownies" type of an advertisement? If you get my vibe. Please somebody who truly knows the answer to this help me out here.

  12. I have bad arthritis and arthritis and have tried cortisone shots to no avail, recently I had HA shots helps and I do use CBD but HATE the taste, this I need to try!
